Mulholland Drive (2001) dir. David Lynch

Unfortunately I never got to see this in the theater, but when I watched it on VHS, I really feel David Lynch kept the sound low on purpose, so you crank it all the way up, and that is when the next-level sound design hits you right in the face. This scene in particular feels like a dream within a dream when the man describes his nightmare. When he walks out of the restaurant toward that dumpster and that damn demon thing pops out, which I have a whole theory about, I think it is the underbelly of Hollywood. It is the demon of Hollywood. Of course the sound is loud as hell and completely freaks you out, and I nearly jumped through the damn roof. One of the scariest scenes I have seen in a long time, hands down. Burnt coffee. Hot concrete. Sun-baked trash. Something sweet rotting underneath.

Notes: Burnt coffee. Hot concrete. Sun-baked trash. Something sweet rotting underneath. Spray at the 16:29 mark.

Ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Parfum (Fragrance), Aqua (Water), Coumarin, Eugenol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool, Limonene, Benzyl Benzoate.

Caution: Flammable. Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only.
