This opening scene has had a chokehold on me for the longest time. That church scene has this THX sound design that is just beyond beyond. When the church doors fly open it is so loud, and seeing the roses and Bible pages come flying out and that statue of Jesus open its eyes was burned into my skull. And the priest running back and forth in the dark, I think about that weekly for no reason. I saw this movie so young, and when I rewatched it older I think it is one of the best. An absolute masterpiece. The opening is pure art.
